The challenge

How to create a distribution center that grows alongside a company’s ambitions, supporting both physical stores and e-commerce?

Working on a solution together

Tuincentrum De Bosrand, a family-owned business that has expanded since 1980 into a chain of nurseries, wholesalers and garden centers, needed a future-proof solution that offers speed, flexibility and scalability.

We developed a modular shelving system that is easy to move and adjust. These robust storage racks provide a solid foundation for their logistics operations and seamlessly adapt to the growth of their e-commerce activities. Designed to last for decades, the system maintains full flexibility.

Thanks to its scalable design, the system can be effortlessly adapted to changing needs, whether expanding or downsizing physical and online sales activities or reconfiguring the layout. Expanding the system is also straightforward, giving De Bosrand the literal space to continue growing.

The result

The new distribution center in Oegstgeest allows De Bosrand to maintain logistical flexibility and efficiency. With modular shelving units, they can free up or reorganize space as needed, depending on the growth of their e-commerce activities or shifting requirements in their physical stores.

About De Bosrand

De Bosrand is a truly green company—in both the literal and sustainable sense. This family business is filled with true enthusiasts who are passionate about greenery, styling and ambiance. What started as a nursery in 1980 has grown into a complete chain of nurseries, wholesalers, garden centers… and now, a new distribution center in Oegstgeest. Every day, plants, flowers and container goods arrive here to be redistributed to De Bosrand’s various locations. Additionally, the company is investing heavily in e-commerce as part of its omnichannel strategy, dedicating a dedicated space within the distribution center to support this growth.
