Quality

When you choose to collaborate with NEDCON, you are choosing quality in storage systems. Safety and quality go hand in hand. This is reflected in our products, suppliers, processes and people. It’s no coincidence that our racks have the highest residual value in the market. Quality is also embodied in our pay-off: smart. safe. storage solutions.

Within NEDCON, we have several systems in place to ensure our quality. In the production environments, we have specific quality teams and strict processes to guarantee the quality of our products. In non-production environments, we ensure process quality with the support of a team of TQM consultants. We believe that every NEDCON employee contributes to the overall quality of the company.

Our products and processes

Quality is a common thread running through our internal processes to ensure that our products meet all requirements and standards. We can tell you about this, but we can also prove it through our certifications.
Our Total Quality Management department oversees the continuous improvement of our quality systems through internal audits to ensure that our focus on quality never wanes and that our processes stay up to date. For this, we work with DNV and for CE-marking with SLV.

NEN EN 1090
As a NEN EN 1090-certified company, our components have a CE-mark. This means that our steel components meet European CE standards. We have the following sub-certificates:

  • NEN EN 1090-1 – for determining conformity of structural components made of aluminum or steel. This standard mainly focuses on the requirements for CE marking.
  • NEN EN 1090-2 – technical requirements for steel components or finished products.

NEDCON is certified according to EN 1090-2, 1090-2 EXC3, and EN 1090-4 EXC3 standards. This confirms that NEDCON meets the highest quality standards for the production and assembly of steel structures. This certification guarantees that NEDCON produces and assembles products of the highest quality according to the applicable European standards.

ISO 9001 – 2015
NEDCON’s quality management system is ISO 9001-certified. ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized standard for quality management systems, helping companies continuously improve the quality of products, services, and processes.

Our certification according to ISO 9001:2015 ensures that NEDCON meets the highest quality requirements and obligations. This allows us to consistently deliver reliable products and services, ensuring high customer satisfaction. We view this certification as an essential part of our operations and are committed to continually optimizing our processes and reliability.

ISO 14001 (Pardubice)
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized environmental management system that helps organizations manage their environmental aspects and reduce their environmental impact. It sets out standards, principles, and processes that organizations can use to develop, implement, and manage environmental systems.
With our environmental management system (in Pardubice) according to the ISO 14001 standard, we actively work to manage and reduce CO₂ emissions within our operations.

ISO 14001 is a voluntary standard, but as part of voestalpine, we are committed to sustainability goals, including an emissions reduction program. This includes initiatives such as the use of solar panels, promoting public transportation, and the electrification of our vehicle fleet.

Quality control

At our production sites, we constantly measure whether the products coming off the assembly line meet the required standards. At fixed intervals, we send components to the NEDCON Test Department in Doetinchem, where they undergo heavy load and bending tests.

abZ
NEDCON has three German abZ (Algemeine Bauaufsichtliche Zulassung) approvals:

  • For beams (Z-14.8-833)
  • For frames (Z-14.8-834)
  • For electroplated bolt sets (Z-14.4-853)

This guarantees the component properties and ensures that the design method is approved in Germany. The abZ (General Building Authority Approval) is a German technical approval for construction products. It is a mandatory certification provided by the federal building authority (BauA) to ensure that a product meets relevant regulations. The abZ is required for products used in buildings, including roofing, building materials, facades, and frames. The goal of the abZ is to guarantee the safety, reliability, and quality of construction products.

ETA
NEDCON is certified according to the ETA (European Technical Assessment, ETA-19/0430). With this certification, NEDCON is able to deliver products that meet the highest quality and safety standards. NEDCON guarantees that the delivered products meet the strictest requirements for European products, ensuring a high level of reliability and durability. NEDCON holds an ETA (European Technical Assessment, ETA-19/0430) for the component properties of beams and frames.

Standards
All NEDCON products comply with the applicable European and local standards for safety and quality. Exceeding expectations. At NEDCON, safety is a top priority. In your warehouse, your employees must be able to work safely.
NEDCON sets the standard. We are one of the leaders in the development and revision of European EN standards and FEM standards for racking structures. Since the general design rules for steel structures in buildings are not directly applicable to racking systems, these new standards are necessary. The standards must better align with the requirements for safe racking construction in today’s warehouses.

Our components, structures, and/or activities comply with the following standards:

  • EN 15512 – requirements for the design of a structure
  • EN 15620 – requirements for tolerances, deformations, and clearances
  • EN 15629 – design specifications
  • EN 15635 – user standard
  • FEM 10.2.06 – European design guidelines for the safety of shelf racking systems
  • FEM 10.2.07 – European design guidelines for the safety of drive-in racking systems

To ensure compliance with the standards, we test our own products in the NEDCON Test Department. Our test equipment and evaluation are regularly checked and validated according to the standards by independent partners:

  • Technical University of Dortmund
  • Technical University of Brno
  • Buro Dr. Möll Darmstadt
  • TNO

Our people

Development program
Every employee undergoes individual training focused on both functional development and personal growth based on their own needs. These trainings range from industry-specific knowledge to personal effectiveness. The L&D manager plays an active role in setting up and managing this supportive learning and development system.

IPMA certified
We ensure the highest quality not only in our products but also in our project management. Our project managers are IPMA certified, meaning that our project management is organized according to recognized standards. Thanks to project management tools developed specifically for us, they can monitor every step of the process and maintain an overview. As the central point of contact, they lead colleagues from engineering, production, purchasing, and assembly. They monitor costs, time, and feasibility and ensure that we deliver what we have agreed upon with you.
