At NEDCON, quality and safety are our top priorities. That is why we work exclusively with steel sourced from trusted suppliers in Europe and the United States for the projects we carry out worldwide.

These regions uphold strict regulations and maintain stable, well‑managed production environments, ensuring that the steel used in our systems is reliable, traceable and produced in a responsible manner.

Key advantages of American and European steel

Choosing steel from these regions provides several important benefits:

Quality

High‑quality steel with excellent mechanical properties (strength, ductility, homogeneity and weldability).

European and American standards

Compliance with the strictest EN and ASTM material standards (including EN 10025, EN 10346, ASTM A1011 and ASTM A653).

Traceability

Full material traceability from melt to final product through heat‑number identification.

Compliance

Steel produced under tightly regulated safety, environmental and labour standards, backed by CE‑marking, ISO processes and TS/QS quality systems.

Reliable supply chains

Stable and predictable supply chains due to well‑regulated markets.

Responsible sourcing

Verified responsible sourcing, with transparent supplier operations confirmed through regular third‑party reviews.

The benefits for customers

For our European customers, this means avoiding import duties and antidumping tariffs, which reduces financial risks and keeps project costs predictable. Because the material already complies with European standards, approval processes run more efficiently, supply chains stay more stable and project timelines become easier to manage.

For our American customers, our material choice ensures full compliance with regulations such as the Buy American Act, removes uncertainties caused by shifting tariff policies and shortens logistics routes. Since the steel already meets all ASTM requirements, no additional testing is needed, allowing projects to progress more efficiently.

Sustainability benefits

Across Europe and the United States, there is a growing focus on sustainability. Within the steel industry, this is reflected in increased attention to reducing environmental impact where possible, for example the use of recycled materials and more efficient production technologies. These developments support the ongoing effort to limit the environmental footprint of steel used in storage systems.

In addition, NEDCON’s manual shelving and pallet racking systems for European direct customers will be largely produced using CO₂‑reduced steel under the name NEDCON decarb edition, without additional cost for the customer. This first step reflects NEDCON’s commitment to actively investing in a more sustainable future.
