Doetinchem, The Netherlands – March 24, 2026 — NEDCON announces that, as of June 1, 2026, its manual shelving and pallet racking systems, sold directly to European end customers will be produced using CO₂‑reduced steel, under the name decarb edition, without additional costs for the customer. This decision reflects NEDCON’s commitment to investing in a more sustainable future.
Taking this first step also comes from a broader sense of responsibility toward customers, the market and future generations. The company believes that sustainable choices should increasingly become the norm. “The sustainable choice, now the standard,” is the message NEDCON aims to communicate with this step.
‘’By adopting CO₂‑reduced steel standard in these specific product categories, we take an important step forward in our ongoing drive for innovation, now extended into sustainability,’’ says Hans Jacobs, Managing Director CEO at NEDCON.’’
“The amount of CO₂-reduced steel, known as decarb edition, results in an expected reduction of over 600.000 kilograms of CO₂ annually,” explains Jan Rensen, Sustainability Officer at NEDCON. “Its technical performance remains unchanged and the quality fully meets the level our customers expect from us.”
Erik Lansink, Managing Director CFO at NEDCON, adds: “This decision requires a long‑term investment, but it is one we make consciously and with confidence. By offering CO₂‑reduced steel at no additional cost, we directly support our customers in achieving measurable CO₂ reductions.”
NEDCON will present the decarb edition initiative at the LogiMAT, Europe’s largest logistics trade fair. The company looks forward to taking this step toward more sustainable solutions in close collaboration with its customers and partners.
