Interns are an essential part of NEDCON. They bring fresh perspectives and new insights. In this blog, we’d like to introduce two of our Czech interns: Anna and Ondřej. How do they experience their internship at NEDCON and what are their plans for the future? Read on to discover their stories.
Turning theory into practice
Ondřej is studying Information and Security Systems at the University of Pardubice. “My studies have taught me how to work with databases and information systems. I’ve also gained extensive knowledge about IT security risks and how to protect against them.” This knowledge has been invaluable during his internship, where he works on the Siemens OEE project, helping NEDCON improve production efficiency.
Anna is studying Economics and Management, focusing on business operations. During her internship, she applies her knowledge in both the production and transportation departments. In the production department, she focuses on lean manufacturing, while in the transportation department she works on optimizing intra-EU transportation. “Right now, I am working on a project for a vending machine that provides personal protective equipment, along with a loan system for measuring devices. Soon, I’ll be installing these systems and assisting with the implementation of a new OEE system to enhance the efficiency of our production lines.”
Interning as a full-fledged employee
What attracted them to do their internship at NEDCON? The opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting. Both interns have been with NEDCON for quite some time, Ondřej for seven months and Anna for almost a year. They both appreciate the work environment and their colleagues.
“The atmosphere is great and everyone is always willing to help,” says Ondřej. Anna agrees: “What makes NEDCON great to work at is that interns are treated no differently than employees. We get the same opportunities and are taken seriously.”
Valuable lessons for the future
Throughout their internships, they have gained many new skills. Ondřej has learned about IT networks and business system management, while Anna has developed insights into procurement, export and import. Additionally, both have realized how crucial teamwork and a positive work environment are for a successful workplace.
Their time at NEDCON has also influenced their future plans. Ondřej shares, “This internship has given me a real sense of what working in IT is like.” Anna, on the other hand, has discovered a new passion: “I never thought I would work in production, but it turns out I really enjoy it.”
