A few years ago, the Winit company moved to its location in Germany in the north-west of the Hanseatic city of Bremen. The district of Überseestadt offers the company the best conditions for successful business operations due to the excellent connection to the container port. The cooperation between Winit and NEDCON was initiated by our long-term specialist trade partner Hahn & Groh in Winsen an der Luhe.
Read moreAs a logistics service provider, Winit handles the dispatch of goods for various trading companies. The goods arrive at Winit unpalletized in sea containers, where they are distributed directly to conveyor belts. From there, the products arrive in plastic boxes and are stored in the shelving system by robots from Quicktron. The particular challenge is to design the interface between the racking system and the robots in such a way that the removal and posting of the boxes run absolutely smoothly and without disruption.
The focus was initially on the development of prototypes for the transfer stations. These were assembled by our installation teams at the Bremen location and tested for free space dimensions, tolerances and deflection by Quicktron engineers under everyday conditions. The necessary adjustments were implemented quickly, and the project was able to enter the implementation phase after a few months.
As a further special feature, the shelving system has been statically designed in such way that the customer can easily decide to have a closed mezzanine floor installed on top of the racking with little effort. This creates another 5000 m² of storage space for robot-guided shelves.
